He Airen 何靄人

“He Airen’s original name was He Yunxiang. Born in Jilin City, he graduated from Jilin First University and worked in primary and middle school education, and administrative departments in Jilin, Changchun and Nong’an. Talented in the creation of prose and fairy tales, his works were often publishekd in Manchukuo newspapers. He also edited a collection of schoolgirls’ writings, Chuang qian cao (Grass Before the Window). After 1949, he worked in the Chinese department of Northeast Normal University. During the Cultural Revolution, he drowned himself in the Songhua River.”
