Li Huiying 李輝英

Li Huiying 李輝英 (Li Liancui 李連萃; also known as Li Dongli李冬禮 ) (1911-1991), was a Manchu born in Yongji 永吉, Jilin 吉林Province. As teenager, he went to Shanghai and graduated from the Chinese Department of China Public School 中國公學. Perhaps his most famous work, the novel 《萬寶山》(Wanbaoshan) is based on a dispute (1 July 1931) between Chinese and Korean farmers in Wanbaoshan. The story depicts Northeasterners’ resistance to the Japanese; it had a wide influence. After 1945, he returned to the Northeast and served as a professor at Northeast University 東北大學. He went to Hong Kong in 1950. 

Li used up to twenty pennames, including: Liang Jin梁晉, Ye Zhiqiu葉知秋, Dong Li東籬, Lin Mang林莽, Lin Shan林山, Xi Cun西村, Nan Feng南烽, Bei Ling北陵 and Xia Shangzhou夏商周.
